Human Anatomy deals with the study of structural organization of human body and provides the precise knowledge of position, size, shape and relations of various structure of the human body. A precise knowledge of applied / clinical anatomy is a keystone to the diagnosis of various diseases. Anatomy is an indispensable part of the BAMS curriculum. Rachana Sharira refers to human anatomy in Ayurveda.
The department of Rachana Sharira has a well illuminated and ventilated spacious dissection hall with enough cadavers for dissection, bone bank, histology laboratory and a museum which houses well preserved specimens of human body from head to toe. Museum further compliments with embryological and pathological specimens, models, charts and radiographs. The department is the first approved centre for body donation among Ayurveda sector in Kerala.
