HISTORY
Department was formed by bifurcation from Kayachikitsa department in 2008. Dr.E.Surendran, Ph.D (Ay) and Dr.C.V.Jayadevan M.D (Ay) served as Professors in the initial period. Dr.A.K.Manojkumar Ph.D (Ay) was made Professor & HOD in 2010. On his deputation of service to KUHS, Dr.P.P.Jigeesh M.D. (Ay) assumed the charge of HOD in 2016

There is a collection of about 125 herbal specimens belonging to various aspects of panchakarma chikitsa. Drugs are classified and arranged according to all their specific karma and gana to which they belong. |

Mannikin are available for demonstration of different procedures. |
OP Theatres |
The department runs OP in the hospital daily. Different treatment procedures are being done in the OP unit. Two male and two female theatres were set up for the purpose. |
IP Theatres |
There are 14 panchakarma theatres working in various floors of the hospital. All the theatres are well equipped and hygienically maintained. All the classical as well as Keraleeya panchakarma procedures are carried out on daily basis. |

There is a well arranged Library in the department. It has a collection of over 281 books on various aspects of Ayurveda and modern medicine. Books dealing with Bio-statistics and Research Methodology are also included. CD/DVD numbering 28 are also available in the library. |
